Solaris Motorsport returns to victory in EuroV8 Series with Sini back on top in standings

Brno (Czeck Republic) – A perfect week end in Moravia gave to Solaris Motorsport the second seasonal victory in EuroV8 Series, thanks to the great performances showed by Francesco Sini’s Camaro, which also climbed on the podium in Race 1. With the first and second place conquered in Brno, Solaris brings its incredible score to 8 podiums in 8 races and Francesco Sini is now second in the drivers standings, back in the title fight.

The Brno week end marked the comeback of Solaris Motorsport after the Camaro’s huge crash in Mugello. The engineers of the Italian team worked night and day to rebuilt the American muscle car and to allow Francesco Sini to join in the Czech round. An incredible job in a short period of time, made even tougher by the long time needed to receive spare parts from the U.S, a big effort concluded only on Tuesday morning, just in time to load everything on the truck and to travel to Brno.

The team made an excellent job, sacrificing sleep and week-end to be able to race the Camaro, so Francesco Sini was forced to thank his guys and their efforts in a unique way. Solaris used the FP1 as a shake down, to check if everything was ok and already in the second free practice Ringhio scored the second best lap, only behind the Audi driven by hometown-hero Kostka.

With Race 1 reverse grid, Sini has started from 7th place in the second race. At the start, the Camaro driver recovered some positions, putting himself between the BMWs. Lap by lap, he started his comeback and after passing the German cars, he focused on two Mercedes of Romanini and Baldan. He passed the first on lap 3 and in the middle of the race Sini caught Baldan. On lap 6 the Camaro overtook the Mercedes for the first position. No one was able to stop Sini and so the checkered flag waived on the American muscle car and Francesco Sini’s 2014 second victory. With the 25 points for the win Ringhio jumped from fourth to second position in the standings.

A success that the Italian driver wanted to dedicate to his team: “I’m very happy about my week end in Brno! We were practically perfect and we took the maximum we could. Kostka was very competitive on his home track and in the first race we could not do any more, the second place in front of Baldan was our best – commented Sini – In Race 2 I used all my grit and I aimed to the podium from the start. When I saw Kostka behind me entering in the pit, I knew that was the moment to push very hard to try to win the race. I want to dedicate this victory to all my team, without them I could not race in Brno! Thinking to win after the Mugello crash was impossible, but Solaris Motorsport has the power to make possible the impossible!”

With Team Principal Roberto Sini absent to business reasons, Laura Sini, usually the PR of the team, had the honor and the responsibility to substitute “the boss” on track: “It was an amazing weekend, my father absence loaded me more but Francesco repaid the huge work of these weeks with a fantastic victory! Going on the podium for the first time was a unique emotion, i can’t describe it! Now we can enjoy a bit of deserved relax until the two German races, where we’ll aim to retake the leadership!

Anyway Roberto Sini has wanted to thank his guys: “It was hard to follow the race staying at home, but i want to congratulate all the team because they made an excellent job. They were practically perfect and after the little miracle with the Camaro, a win was the right acknowledgment for their work. Seeing the week end with a father’s eyes, it was very emotional viewing my son and my daughter on the first step of the podium! But now we have to think about the championship, two races from the end and Francesco is fighting for the title again. I hope to have the Lumina in Germany, to give the Camaro a little help in the title battle.

EuroV8 next roung is sheduled on 20th and 21st of September in Sachsenring, Germany. For the last two week end, the EuroV8 Series will change the race fomat, using a new one with a single longer race instead of the classical two 25 minutes manches.
