Solaris Motorsport lands into GT world with Chevrolet Corvette

The 2015 season will be a very interesting year for Solaris Motorsport. After winning the EuroV8 Series title with Francesco Sini and giving the first victory in Europe to the Chevrolet SaReNi Camaro GT3, the Italian team is ready for a new and very important challenge. In the factory in Notaresco the new “weapon” has arrived for the main 2015 program: a new Chevrolet Corvette Z06R, for GT3 competitions.

We’ll stick to the American brand we won a lot with until now. – said Roberto Sini, team owner – After the great debut with the SaReNi Camaro, we want to keep fighting with the Gran Touring cars. It’s a totally new and important challenge for all of us, we must learn a lot and we are confident we’ll be competitive as much as we showed in Monza, when we won despite it was our first time with this kind of car. It’s a new chapter of our history.

Solaris Motorsport wants to race in a high level championship, such the GT Italian Championship or getting part to more European program, pointing anyway to the top of standings immediately: “We were very competitive all of a sudden in the Italian GT Championship and, since the series is in an high level, there should be great racing again – commented Francesco Sini, driver of the Team – For sure, an European championship such as the GT Open may be very interesting and exciting for us, it’s a challenge I would accept very gladly.

The driver, who will share the Corvette Z06R GT3 cockpit with Francesco Sini, has not been decided yet, the team has various possibiities, the desire is to set a couple of skilled drivers, competitive in every circuit.

The 500hp+ American coupè, that collected a lot of wins in Europe and US, is just the first step of Solaris Motorsport into the GT world: “We already signed an agreement for the future. – explain Roberto Sini – 2015 season will serve us to learn all the secrets of this category, in order to be at the top of competitivity in 2016, when we will race with the new-brand Corvette Z07R GT3.”

The Notaresco-based team will not quit the victorious EuroV8 Series cars, the Chevrolet Camaro and Lumina will be available for the racing customers that can race with them in Italy or Europe taking advantage of the help and the know how of the Italian team.
