Solaris Motorsport lands in Brno ready to fight for the championship
Pescara – The second half of the EuroV8 Series season is about to begin in Brno, Czech Republic, and Solaris Motorsport is focused on keeping on with the great first part of this 2014, which saw the team score 6 podiums in 6 races and win Race 1 in Vallelunga thanks to Francesco Sini’s #12 Chevrolet Camaro. The American muscle car will be once a again a protagonist of the Czech weekend, aiming to to bounce back after the Mugello crash that forced “Ringhio” to surrender the lead of the Drivers Standings. Both the driver and the team’s goal is get back on top of the standings by winning the races.
“We are really ready for this weekend! After some bad luck in Mugello we have all the the intentions to bounce back to fight again for the championship! During the last weeks we had to work day and night to repair the Camaro. It was a big effort made by my mechanics and I would like repay them with an important victory! It would be great to get back on top before the summer break!” said Sini before travelling to Brno. Last year the Camaro was very competitive in the Czech Republic and only a race contact robbed Sini of a second place, but the accident didn’t cancel the good performances showed by the American car. This time the “Princess” – this is the nickname that the team gave to the car – will race without any ballast, a good advantage against strong opponents like the hometown-hero Tomas Kostka and the always-competitive Mercedes and BMWs.
After the Mugello Race 2 crash, in the last three weeks the Solaris engineers had work very hard to rebuild the Camaro, very badly damaged after the Italian round. An hard job a that required great dedication and makes Roberto Sini, Solaris Motorsport Team Principal, proud of his guys: “Our technicians made an excellent job, they worked non-stop for days and they were able to finish the Camaro just in time for Brno. Unfortunately the spare parts had to arrive from U.S and this made it longer, but our guys made a little miracle! Thanks to their efforts now we can race in Brno and we must repay them by taking back the lead in the standings. It shouldn’t be bad to go to Germany as the top of the class!”
