Good results for Solaris Motorsport at Franciacorta
Castrezzato, Italy – The NASCAR GP of Italy at Franciacorta circuit saw a very competitive Solaris Motorsport on its home track. The Pescara based team showed a solid pace: the young Israeli driver Naveh Talor conquered the Top10 on the Saturday ELITE 2 Race at his second NASCAR weekend ever, while Francesco Sini run all the Sunday Round 4 of ELITE 1 with the pace of drivers battling for the podium. After the first two rounds of the 2019 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series season, Sini is seventh in the ELITE 1 standings with a gap of only 46 points (each victory is 40 points), Naveh Talor is sixth in the ELITE 2 general standings and third in the Rookie classification.
“It has been a very positive weekend, we grew up session after session. Almost everything went in the proper way.” commented Francesco Sini. The Italian driver obtained in Franciacorta his best 2019 result on Round 4, ending the race in P7, very close to the Top3 battle. “We entered in Superpole and we conquered two Top10s. Race 2 was great, with a competitive and solid pace as the top drivers. For sure we have to improve the qualifying in order to start in a better position but finally I enjoyed the racing weekend! I fought, I did some overtakes, I defended my position and I gained some spots. Probably, considering the fact we have 30 PRO drivers on the grid, this was the best race since we came in NASCAR. The growth of the team is demonstrated also by Naveh and his performances, he’s growing a lot and quickly, gaining importants points in each race. Last year in Brands Hatch we reached the podium, fingers crossed…”
“The whole weekend was very good, especially on Saturday. I had a very good feeling with the car, I’m very happy about this and about my improvements if I think to Valencia.” said Naveh Talor, that reached his first ever Top10 of his NASCAR career when he is only 17. “The Sunday’s race was more relaxed, I could say almost boring, but I found the way to have fun and show my potential. I overtook Risitano in the last corner of the last lap, it was great! I struggled with the tires and I didn’t find the way to have a constant pace for all the race length. I could have done something better maybe but it’s ok. I improved a lot since Valencia and this is the most important thing. In Brands Hatch I will try to make a further step, I would like to the enter the Superpole.”
All the show of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series will move now in England, with the iconic round of Brands Hatch scheduled from 31th of May to 2ns of June.
