Solaris Motorsport will debut in the Italian GT Championship with the SaReNi Camaro GT3

Pescara, Italy – After winning the EuroV8 Series title just two weeks ago, Solaris Motorsport is already ready for a new challenge: the debut in the italian GT Championship during Monza last round. On the historical Italian track, the Notaresco-based team will race again with the Chevrolet Camaro, this time built according to the FIA GT3 regulament, for the fresh V8 champion Francesco Sini and the Czech expert factory driver, Tomas Enge.

It will be the first time that the American muscle car will be part of an Italian series, on the same track where one month ago fought for the win with Tomas Enge in the penultimate round of the International GT Open. 4944 x 1988 x 1200 are the sizes of the SaReNi Camaro GT3 (here the complete specifications) that Solaris Motorsport will put on the track in Monza, teaming up with the technicians of the Reiter Engineering, the factory that builds and develops the car.

Regning EuroV8 Series Champion Francesco Sini, who has in the past already won the 2008 European Radical Master Series and the Italian Series 12 months before, will now debut in a GT series: “I will be doing a shakedown on Wednesday in Rijeka circuit in order to discover the SaReNi Camaro GT3. It’s a very powerful car – more than 650hp coming from the 7883cc American V8 – and it’s quite different from my EuroV8 Series Camaro. I believe we can have a good performance in Monza, I will have to get to know the car but I’m sure that Tomas will be helping us .” According to the sporting rules book, Solaris Motorsport SaReNi Camaro, as a newcomer, will have a 15 seconds penalty during Race 1 drivers change: “We will have a lot to learn but luckily I will be able to count on the same guys I achieved the European crown with. Race 1 will be a big discovery and everything will be new for us. We will try to have a very good performance on track in order to close the 15 seconds penalty gap. It will be great to end the year with sweet memories.”

In Monza, Solaris Motorsport will find again the Audi Sport Italia historical EuroV8 Series opponents, a new life for an old challenge: “It will be a further incentive to do our best, it’s alway a good thing challenging the opponents on different series“. said “Ringhio” Sini,

Tomas Enge is the driver Reiter Engineering choose to develop the American muscle car, no one knows the SaReni Camaro better than him: “Another Championship and another challenge for me. It is an honor and I’m really looking forward to race first time together with Francesco as he is this year’s Euro V8 Champion. In combination with Solaris Motorsport and the GT3 SaReNi Camaro, I’m very confident we will have a successful weekend in last race of Italian GT in Monza.

After winning the Euro V8 Series championship, Solaris Motorsport Team Principal Roberto Sini, raises the stakes: “This is a new challenge for us. It all began quickly and we will be going to Monza also to try our team in a different series, like GT. Our point of focus is still be racing the EuroV8 Series next year, but we are considering to widen up our horizons in 2015. We are going to Monza well knowing we have a lot to learn, but we will be not just a simple number on the grid…

“It’s an honor for us to team up with Francesco as the reigning EuroV8 Series Champion and Solaris Motorsport. Both are very experienced and are racing successfully with the Camaro. We’re really looking forward to compete in the Italian GT in this new constellation!”, commented Hans Reiter, founder of the factory that builds the Camaro GT3.
