Solaris Motorsport confirms Giovanni Berton on Lumina for EuroV8 Series round in Sachsenring

Pescara (Italy) – The EuroV8 Series is ready to return on track and Solaris Motorsport is focused on season finale, where its driver Francesco Sini is fighting for the european crown with the faithful Chevrolet Camaro. Looking forward the fightfull end of season, in the next German race in Sachsenring, the italian team will engage Giovanni Berton at wheel of the same Chevrolet Lumina that was able to set 4 podiums in 4 races this year with Domenico Schiattarella.

Runner in 2013 Superstars Series, Berton is involved this year in the Italian Porsche Carrera Cup and raced the Italian round of Porsche Supercup in Monza during the F1 Gran Prix week end. The coming of the itallian strong driver in Solaris Motorsport, as usual Team Dinamic driver, was made possible thanks to the good relations between the two team bosses Maurizio Lusuardi and Roberto Sini, a relationship made stronger by the new A.T.T., the new association of all EuroV8 Series teams.

It’s an honour and a pleasure for me to return to my Eurov8 Series friends – commented Berton – I want to thank Solaris Motorsport and Team Dinamic for this opportunity, I hope to be fast with Lumina early enough to help my friend and team-mate Francesco in its title battle. I’m excited to try this new challenge!

I’m happy to have Giovanni with us, we fought a lot in the past and I know how he can be competitive. I’m sure that he can help all the team in Germany. Sachsenring isn’t the best track for us, we’ll have the maximum of ballast and Giovanni could be an excellent resource“, said the team leader Francesco Sini.

I want to thank Maurizio Lusuardi for making it possible. – said Roberto Sini, Solaris Motorsport team principal – Unfortunately our usual driver Domenico Schiattarella had a last minute business and we immediately started looking for an expert, intelligent and fast driver. Giovanni is the best choice we could make, he’s exactly what we were searching for. His second place, ahead factory drivers, last year confirms all that. I’m sure that he will be able to help Francesco in the title fighting, Lumina demonstrated to be very competitive and Giovanni will confirm it in Germany too.

EuroV8 Series’ next round is scheduled for 20 and 21st of September in Germany, on Sachsenring’s track, during the great ADAC GT Masters week end, followed by thousands fans.
