Positive test for Solaris Motorsport in Vallelunga
Vallelunga, Rome – It was a very intense but profitable two-day test session for Solaris Motorsport in Vallelunga. The Notaresco-based team’s Corvette Z06R clocked lots of laps on the fast track near Rome with Francesco Sini, EuroV8 Series reigning champion, and Stefano Costantini, expert GT driver, setting excellent times that earned the Italian squad the top of the Day 1 classification. The team could test different setup settings and discover the performances and the different behaviours of the the tires used in the International GT Open and the Italian GT championship. They also simulated pit stops, employing all the team’s forces.
It was the second test of the season for Francesco Sini after the positive debut in Adria two weeks ago. The Italian driver found the right feeling with the car early on the fast track of Vallelunga, posting times nearly as fast as the best in the category. “I’m very satisfied about these two days of test – commented Ringhio – The team and I had a lot of time to test and work on the car in the best way possible. Lap times were great too and we are very happy about this, we know we are just at the beginning and we can improve.”
Stefano Costantini drove the Corvette for the first time on his home track, debuting at Vallelunga with Solaris. The veteran Italian driver brought his vast experience to the team, helping a lot the engineers in finding the right setup and posting early very interesting times. “We worked a lot testing a high number of parts and trying various setups. The car is very different from what I drove until now, but it’s clear that the potential is very high. – said Costantini – I’m feeling good with the team, they seem very professional despite they begun working on the car only two months ago. These days were very profitable for everyone of us.”
The Solaris Motorsport Corvette, as already in Adria, seemed very fast on the high speed bends of the Italian track and very responsive to setup changes. The many kilometers completed by the car gave the engineers a huge amount of data, useful for further development. Roberto Sini, Solaris Motorsport team principal, is very satisfied about the test: “The team worked hard and now we can see the results. I’m very happy about the Stefano’s debut, he showed what he can do and his feeling with the team was good. Francesco made an incredible job for the team, progressing with the work started in Adria. We are just at the beginning of the year, but I think I can tell that I’m confident for the rest of this impegnative season.”
Solaris Motorsport will be back on track again in the next weeks, for further test in order to develop the car and train to the best the team to race conditions.
