Solaris Motorsport wants a good result from Vallelunga round
Notaresco, Italy – With the end of the summer break, the 2015 season of the Italian GT Championship will resume from Vallelunga circuit. The series, with the incredible average of 40 cars on the grid in each race, will be back on the track near Rome for the fifth round, hosting Race 9 and 10. Solaris Motorsport used this summer break working on its Chevrolet Corvette Z06R, in order to improve the performances and be ready for the first racing weekend after the holidays.
In order to do that, some days ago the team made a test in Vallelunga with the two official drivers Francesco Sini e Marcello Puglisi, that had the choice to value different setup settings and to try some comparative checks very useful for the Solaris Motorsport engineers. “In Vallelunga I have a lot of great memories. Last year we gained here the first victory for our Camaro in the EuroV8 Series! We know very well this track and the last test we made gave us the right feeling. This is our home race, we will have a lot of fans and we want to thank their support with a great result!” commented Francesco Sini, ready for the upcoming race. “Vallelunga is a good track for our Corvette, we will take advantage on the straights thanks to our powerful engine, but we will lose something in the curvy parts. If we will have a trouble-free weekend, we have all we needs to reach a good result!”
Similar thinking for his team mate, Marcello Puglisi, that raced in Vallelunga last time in 2010, when he took part of the International Superstars Series races: “I used the test to take the right feeling with the track and try to discover the Corvette’s behaviour on this track. My impressions are very positive, the car seem well drivable and we have the choice to gain a good result behind our supporters. I want to give to the team the result they deserve from the beginning of the year for their efforts in each single weekend! In Mugello we were so close to the podium, here, if the gods will are with us, we have another chance to stay again on the top.”
“The guys gave the maximum at home and during the test we had a comfortable validation.” commented Roberto Sini, Solaris Motorsport Team Principal. “All the team worked hard during all the year e they deserve really a good result in this tricky season where, with just a bit of more luck, we could have reached different goals. Vallelunga is our home race and we will are surrounded by our fantastic fans. They will give us the charge and the right determination to go on track well knowing our potential, ready to score the maximum we can in both the races.”
The Vallelunga weekend will start on Friday, September 11th with the two session of free practice, scheduled at 8:55 AM and 12:30 AM, prelude to the the two qualifying sessions – one for each race – at 4:05 PM and 4:35 PM. Race 1 will start at 2:35 on Saturday, September 12th, while Race 2 is scheduled for Sunday at 12 AM. Both the races will be live streamed on the official website of the Italian GT Championship (www.acisportitalia.it/CIGT)
