Solaris Motorsport ready for the second round of the EuroV8 Series in Vallelunga
Pescara – After the great perfomances showed in the season debut in Monza, with three podiums in two races in Brianza, Solaris Motorsport is now ready for the new challenge in Vallelunga, the theater of the 2nd round of the EuroV8 Series. Very fast on the long Monza straights, the orange Chevrolets of the italian team have returned to the factory in Notaresco, where the engineers checked and prepared them Roman race. The objective for Francesco Sini and his Camaro is to repeat the Monza week-end, despite the track not constituting an advantage.
“I’m very excited to race in Vallelunga! It’s our home track and there I want to get my first victory in the championship! In the past, for several reasons, I always shortly missed the win, but this year I have all the intentions to finish first! It would be very important for the championship too!” commented a confident Francesco Sini.
As a result of the new Balance Of Perfomance, made by A.T.T. – the association of all the EuroV8 Series teams – at the track entitled to Piero Taruffi the #12 Chevrolet Camaro will take advantage of a 10-kilos weight discount and a 10mm lower ride height compared to the Monza races. In fact, in contrast with what happened in past, when the Balance’s changes were based on the previous races’ results, now the B.O.P. will vary race by race, taking as reference the track and the performance of the cars on that circuit. For Vallelunga, the International Superstars Series races of last year, in which the two Solaris Motorsport Chevrolets leaded the start of Race 2, were taken as starting point to determine the adjustments.
“The Vallelunga round will be very important for us to verify and to confirm the big potential we showed in Monza. It will be more difficult to stay always at the top, due to the different characteristics of the track, but we want continue to astonish in this start of the season. – said Roberto Sini, Solaris Team Principal – I don’t deny that we are focused on the championship and for this reason it will be very important not make any mistake.”
The Vallelunga EuroV8 Series round will start on Saturday, May 3rd, with two free practice sessions scheduled at 9:15 AM and 1:25 PM, while in the afternoon, at 4:35 PM, there will be the qualifying session. The two races are scheduled for Sunday, May 4th: Race 1 will start at 9:55 AM while the green light for Race 2 will be at 3: PM. Both races will be live streamed on the Solaris Motorsport web site.
