Solaris Motorsport aims the podium in Spa

Pescara, Italy – This weekend the International GT Open Round 2 will be hosted in Belgium, on the historical F1 track of Spa-Francorchamps. Francesco Sini and Mauro Calamia will try to redeem the difficult weekend at Estoril, where the Aston Martin fielded by Solaris Motorsport brought home a seventh place in Race 2.
“I love Spa! I raced there one of the best race of my career: it was in 2008 and I won with the Radical! We came back during the Superstars Series era but with the Aston Martin everything will be very different. I can’t wait to sling down in the Eau Rouge hearing the Vantage V12 roaring! Something did not work at Estoril, I want to forget the Portuguese weekend and come back to battle for the top positions.” commented Francesco Sini. “On the track we will have a second Vantage, fielded by Aston Martin Brussels team, it will be a great reference point for us. I’m excited to start the weekend!”
“Spa is one of the most beautiful track in Europe, rich as much of history as old school turns. Only the brave! I really love it! The chassis of our Vantage can be a great partner of us in many parts of the track and, if we will be able to take advantage of the fluidity of the Aston Martin engine, we can reach important goals.” said Mauro Calamia. “I have a race of experience on my shoulders, I feel a little better the car compared to Estoril. It will be no easy, the GT Open level is very high this year!”
“We took advantage of the break between Estoril and Spa round to understand what was wrong in Portugal, in order to not repeat the same mistakes in Belgium. The GT Open this year has a very competitive field, every flew, every error risks to cost a lot of positions. It will be a tricky season, a formative year, but, on the other side, if we will be able to stay on top in this contest, the satisfaction will be double. And I’m confident it will be happen soon.” said Roberto Sini, who is helped in managing the team by his sons Francesco and Laura.
The International GT Open Round 2 will start on Friday, May 26th, with the two free practice sessions, scheduled at 11:58 AM and 3:28 PM. Saturday morning at 11:34 there will be the qualifying session for the 70 minutes endurance race, that will start in the afternoon at 4:45 PM. Same scheme on Sunday, with the qualifying at 9:38 AM and the green flag for the 60 minutes race at 2:15 PM. Both races will be live streamed on the International GT Open YouTube channel.
